What is a Precision Basemap?

Every Precision Basemap began with real dyno development on a real motorcycle. It was a completed calibration for the motorcycle used to develop it.

JCES™ What is JCES™?

JCES™ stands for J-Code Evaluation System. Rather than making you guess which file fits, JCES evaluates your motorcycle, tuner, and installed components against available Precision Basemaps.

JCES is why Basemaps.net can show you the files that belong to your combination.

Harley tune files & Power Vision FAQ

Basemaps.net is an online catalog of dyno-developed Precision Basemaps by Matt Smith. This is a file only. It requires a tuner in order to use it. A Power Vision, MadLad Solutions interface, ThunderMax, HP Tuners, or any digital license is not included or sold by Basemaps.net.

Shop Profit Calculator

Map-sourcing is not free labor. See how much billable time a matched Precision Basemap can put back into the bay.

1. End lift lockdown

After a cam or exhaust job, the bike often sits on the lift while someone hunts a file. Square footage is money. Find My Tune takes the VIN plus the cam and exhaust on the bike and returns a matching Precision Basemap to flash. The bike can start and roll off so the next mechanical job can take that lift.

2. Shorten the dyno

A generic file makes the tuner build volumetric-efficiency tables from scratch — heat, fuel, roller wear, and your most skilled tech for hours. A Precision Basemap comes from a real dyno session for that parts combination, so the dyno is for weather, fuel, and the last refinement.

3. Flash without waiting on one guru

JCES™ evaluates the VIN, tuner, and installed parts so an intermediate tech can flash the cataloged file. The same matching rules run for every published file.

Example, not a promise: five upgrade jobs a week, two hours recovered on sourcing and troubleshooting, at $120–$150/hour is $1,200–$1,500 a week in recovered labor — plus room to book more work. Type 20 maps/month and 2.00 hours in the calculator to see that week. Clearing the lift Friday still beats hunting a file until next week.

Catalog

Browse Catalog is exploration. Start with your parts, then narrow to your bike with the same questions the VIN check asks. Pricing and purchase need your VIN once for the JCES compatibility check.

Tell us about your bike first. No VIN needed to browse. We will verify it before purchase.

1. Identify your bike
2. Confirm your bike details

Harley calls it RDRS. If this light shows on your dash when you turn the key, your bike has it.

3. Enter your current engine size

Exact engine size first, then the closest sizes. Your VIN factory engine size stays separate.

4. Choose your tuner

Hint: Tap the picture that matches the tuner device you own. You can change it later if needed.

Identify your bike

Enter your VIN. Your VIN tells us which calibration files belong with your motorcycle.

Your parts tell us what has been changed. Your VIN tells us what motorcycle those parts are installed on. Only files compatible with your motorcycle can continue through the purchase process.

Verify your motorcycle. Your VIN tells us which files belong with this bike — it protects you from buying a map that will not flash.

Your VIN identifies the bike. Your parts describe the build.

Don't have your VIN handy? Browse the catalog by year and model. You will still enter the VIN before checkout.

Optional: take or load a photo of your VIN plate to use as a reference while you type.

Harley cam specs

Compare published Twin Cam and Milwaukee-Eight grind cards. Switch the engine family live — the three picks are shelf-scoped and clear when you change families.

Your numbers

Four events only — no lift. Use this when the grind is not in the list (a Crane still on the bike, a degree-wheeled unknown, etc.).

Pick up to three cams. Switch Twin Cam or Milwaukee-Eight without reloading.

Uses the first cam you picked (or the nearest published grind if you only entered events) to rank catalog maps. If we do not have that grind, we point you at the closest published intake close. Search by Bike still needs your VIN. This does not hide maps or add a checkout gate.

Estimates and published cards only. Duration, overlap, lobe centers, and LSA are derived when the four events exist. Missing numbers stay blank — never painted as zero. Not a valvetrain design tool and not a checkout gate. Must be dyno tuned for best results.
